Contest and Blood

Just so you guys know, I will be choosing a winner for the pet photo contest on this blog by the end of this week. I haven’t forgotten. It’s been a busy week, which explains the delay. There are 8 entries, and they are all so good! It will be hard to choose. I’m trying to figure out how I will chose. Maybe pick the top three favorites, and then draw from a hat or something. Anyway, I will be announcing the winner by Friday night, Saturday at the latest. Check back soon. :)

In other news, today I sliced open my left index finger. Why? Because I’m silly that’s why, and I needed a reminder that I’m alive. Yup, it confirms it. Blood = alive.

Florida Mortgages

For those of you who are thinking about retiring in Florida, you may want to check out Florida mortgage rates before you do so. I would love to have a vacation home in Florida, actually — that’s where Disney World is! I haven’t been to the other parks outside of the regular one yet, so being in Florida would be awesome to check out. Some of my friends live in Florida, so you should all check into EHomeMortgages’ Florida home loans before deciding on buying a home there. Look for good interest rates and a dependable company. Having a dream home in Florida would be so wonderful, what with the great weather in the summer time. It is the perfect retirement locale for a reason! You would just have to make sure you’re paying a good Florida mortgage rate when you buy your home there.

Some Random Stuff

My goodness. So I just took a 3-hour nap. I felt really lethargic at around 5pm or so. Not sure why. We didn’t do much of anything all day, which is nice. Trying not to feel guilty about not even doing any paperwork for work, but you know, that’s fine. I’m not really that behind, so it could wait until tomorrow or the next day. Now the husband is making us dinner (he’s so good to me, hehe), and we’re watching Everybody Hates Chris. Cute little show, really.

Last chance to enter the pet contest because it closes tonight at midnight. :D You get a free bracelet if you win!

Pingo Calling Cards

Any of you out there who call internationally? I have relatives in Vietnam and friends in Europe, and I bet a lot of you are in similar situations as me, who have loved ones all over the world. I usually use my land line to call out, but they can get really expensive the more you call, so pre-paid calling cards are sometimes the way to go. Now, Pingo.com offers really low rates on international calling cards for global usage. I remember my mother going to supermarkets and comparing pre-paid calling cards from all types of brands, only buying the cheapest ones, and then buying them in bulk. So wasteful, in my opinion. I like that Pingo offers virtual calling cards instead. Use your international phone card online and virtually!

If you’re interested, if you sign up through me and reading this entry, you can get $8 in free calls right now, with no hidden charges, no secret fees. Just all plain, honest usage. You may even get up to 5 hours of free calling if you sign up now, and furthermore, you get extra $3 discount if you use the blog discount coupon code of “ppp3″. Another great deal is the calling card that you can get for only $17, but is actually worth $25. You don’t have to actually pay full price.

Other great deals includes Pingo Mobile, which saves you up to 90% on your international phone calls made from your cell phone. If you’re like me and you use your cell phone a LOT, this is definitely the one for you. There is even an affiliate program you can join if you are so inclined, which can lead up to you saving a lot more too.

Mondays and Free Space

Ah Mondays. Usually, Mondays are something to be feared, but not this Monday! This Monday, I have off, and so does Dave. What does that mean, you ask? It means we get to do whatever the heck we want, which for today, will consist of printing out more wedding photos, working on paperwork for work, and… and… play Guild Wars. Heh. It’s funny that when I choose to do paperwork for work, versus having to, it feels a little easier and a little less stressful. It just means it’s my choice as to whether or not I want to catch up on paperwork. It’s all psychological, you see. The power of choice gives the power of motivation, I suppose.

Guild Wars… awesome, beautiful game. I play because it looks so darn pretty. The fighting is easy too. I don’t have to keep my poor finger mouse-clicking when we’re trying to kill demons and monsters. Though, to tell you the truth, I was rather upset last night because we both kept dying while trying to finish a specific quest. So we gave up and we’re stuck on the middle of Level 6. We’re going to try again later on, when I’m taking a break from printing all these darn photos.

By the way, don’t forget to enter the pet photo contest if you haven’t already! You only have until tonight at 11:59pm Pacific Time before the contest closes! Go go go!

Flowers For All

If you’re in the UK, you may want to take advantage of this post specifically. I have a code: “web123″ — that allows you a special promotion when you order flowers from Interflora. The voucher code is worth about £5, and offers free delivery with your purchase. With just a minimum purchase of approximately £20 (which really, isn’t that much when you think of fresh flowers in your home, right?) The delivery is for the next day, so this can be a gift to someone and it would be such a nice surprise to have it show up at their door out of nowhere. Husbands, boyfriends, fiances, here’s a hint to ya, if you’re in the UK and you want to surprise your girl with some flowers or balloons, and at the same time save a bit of coinage in the process, this is the way to do it. Might as well use the voucher code while it still lasts!

I love flowers. I like having fresh flora in our home… it feels more lively and it feels like the home is.. breathing. I don’t know what it is. If you’re like me, you’d probably want to take this offer up. Too bad I’m not in the UK – I would totally be utilizing this code and passing it to everyone I know!

Drunk on Love

I love the way clients respond to me sometimes. Today I had a successful session with a family who I was sort of dreading to see because of their lack of motivation and overall engagement. However, I had a heart-to-heart with one of them, and it went MUCH better than I had expected. I even got several smiles out of her, and it really made a difference. Yesterday, a client told me she didn’t want services to end and joked that I didn’t get her “permission” to leave after our time is done. It was touching, and I was very pleased that they like my services. Not that I am expecting that, but it’s always nice to know that people appreciate you, y’know? It’s nice to know that they like your presence and that you’re doing something good. Even if I didn’t help them in any concrete way, at least I got to make them smile and feel safe for just a little while. Maybe they can take that example and know that the feeling is possible, and they can open themselves up to others in the future. I like making people feel safe. I like allowing them to. It makes me safe too.

This work is so significant to me. Jen from work said that I’m probably the happiest person she knows. I’m glad about that. I came home all chipper and Husband asked me, “Are you drunk or something?” :P

I answered, “No, I’m just drunk on LLOOoOoOoOvvVVVveeeEee, baby.” Then I did a little dorky, cheesy dance for him, which made him roll his eyes and smile. Hehe.

P.S. If you haven’t entered yet, go enter my pet photo contest. You get a prettiful bracelet if you win!!

Electronic Disclosures

Dave and I have talked a lot about the importance of eliminating paperwork when it comes to doing business. Now, eDisclosures is doing it! They’re introducing a new, revolutionary way of doing business in the loan industry especially. All disclosure documents are done electronically, through electronic disclosures, versus through paper. This eliminates the old way of doing things that cost more money (thousands of dollars, in fact), more space wasted, and more environmentally troubling aspects (such as wasting paper for seemingly worthless documents, eh). Of course, the most significant change is that the whole process will completely change, with some aspects even completely eliminated. This allows for big changes in efficiency and savings. I think it’s a great idea.

Contest: Pet Photo

Okay, ladies and gentlemen, this is a brand new contest (and the first ever) at Helen Chatter. Please participate, as I am eager for more participants and meeting more people online! Hope to see all your entries soon!

RULES:

1. Post a funny/hilarious ROTFL-type photo of your/a pet. Write a caption either in the photo, or underneath the photo in your entry regarding what the photo is about. You may be as creative as you want! It can be an old photo, or a new photo, or even a photo you specifically made for this post! The animal doesn’t have to be your pet. In fact, it doesn’t have to be a pet at all. It can be a photo of a gorilla you saw at the zoo, scratching its armpit, or your grandmother’s dog attempting a somersault. :D

2. Mention this site and link to it (http://helenchatter.com), as well as the contest post on Helen Chatter (http://helenchatter.com/archives/2007/09/02/contest-pet-photo) in your entry post.

3. Come back here to this entry and comment the exact URL of your post. Your entry is complete then! You have until September 10, 2007, 11:59pm PT!!

PRIZE:

This beautiful Titanium helix bracelet made from Steel Weaver: an original that is worth approximately $80 to $100. I bought it directly from him, and he is an amazing artist when it comes to making jewelry. I have several and this is an extra that I bought. Un-used, never been worn. Comes in the package with his business card. It is 9 inches long, but can be easily reduced in length with a simple pair of pliers. This bracelet is a unisex bracelet, so boys and girls, you are all welcome to enter this contest! :D

Las Vegas Living

A friend and I were just talking today about how one of her friends is living in Las Vegas. I told her I didn’t realize people actually live in Vegas. Who knew! Seems like such a bustling place. Then again, I suppose there are some great job opportunities there, since it is a huge tourist town. That means that schools, homes, and family-based businesses pop up like crazy there. I bet Las Vegas homes aren’t too expensive either, since it is a growing city and out of the way. Millionsaver.com could help anyone find a home in Vegas, where the businesses are bustling and the people are constantly changing. I bet you can’t be bored in Vegas, living in the city that never sleeps, eh? New homes are going up like weeds, and resale homes are also alive and well. You can basically get your pick anywhere. Would be neat, I suppose, to live there, if you’re into all those lights and all that excitement!
