Productive Day

Well, I had quite the productive day today. I’ve been cleaning quite a bit, doing a bit of nesting, getting rid of trash in the old computer room (where Baby Bean’s nursery will be). And then I finally moved us back into the en suite bathroom. All we need are some new electrical wall plates and a mirror, and we’re set to go. However, until then, we can still use the restroom — it’s all nice and clean and dusted and mopped, and I moved all of our stuff back in. Did a bit of laundry, cleaned the kitchen a bit, and cleaned both bathrooms. Boy I’m good!

Tonight we have the 7pm dinner with the family. I’m excited to see the family again, and for them to see my growing belly bump. I’m gonna go get something to eat right now and start on some paperwork for work. Woo!

New Glasses

I’ve recently found an awesome Great Discovery: www.ZenniOptical.com. If you know me at all, you know I have an addiction for glasses. Different types of glasses. I’m always looking to see what new style I should wear when I get my next pair of glasses. Granted, I don’t get them very often (maybe once every two years), but that doesn’t stop me from looking! I was going through ZenniOptical and boy oh boy there are so many selections they’ve got, and they have prescription glasses online too. I’m officially addicted. I just got my latest pair of glasses last February, and now I want another one? :P Heh. These ones are still pretty new, and I love them, but I just can’t help wanting another pair, maybe a quirky one, something more dramatic, something less “Helen” (which, when it comes to glasses, means: boring, safe, ordinary :P ). Maybe my next pair will be a little more stylish!

Another Saturday

Ah, don’t you love Saturdays? It’s like.. the whole weekend is just open all the way wide and you can do whatever you want. Of course, most of my Saturdays include cleaning and doing laundry, and putting the house back in tip top order, but today doesn’t look too bad. We’ve been generally clean and tidy throughout the week, so there’s not much to clean. I want to set up the en suite bathroom back up so we can start using it again.

The second half of today will be spent doing more paperwork for work. I’m looking forward to being a little closer to being on top of everything, and caught up. I realize that I say this every week, but every week I get a little closer and closer, so it’s not too bad. And well, in another 5 months or so, I’m going to be taking time off from work to have a Baby Bean, so it can’t be all that bad. I just gotta get my act together before then!

Nesting and Designing

I keep watching these darn real estate shows on Home & Garden Television. I don’t know if anyone in the States have that channel, but I’m completely addicted. There are even some British shows that have made their way into the channel (I think it’s because Canada TV welcomes many British shows since they have the same queen and all that jazz?), like Justin and Colin. Those two flamboyant upbeat designers are so fun to watch. I just chuckle while watching them design and transform these old boring homes with giant, extravagant, dynamic, dramatic colors and patterns. It must be nice to be a designer. Sometimes I think about being one — putting my creativity to work and doing interior designing. However, I don’t sew, and I like things I can touch and feel, versus things like walls and lighting and stuff. Eh well. I guess it’s not meant for me. I know a friend of mine who went from drug rehab and replaced his addiction with interior designing. He’s doing so well. I always knew art can save lives. Regardless of the reason or the creed, designing comes in all shapes and forms, and they are especially lovely when I’m nesting. ;P

Friday Five

I haven’t done these in a while. So here ya go: the first January “Friday Five:”

# What is your favourite fruit?
Oranges. Definitely oranges. So citrus-y and so yummy and mm mm mm!!

# What is the last book you read?
“Eat Pray Love” by Gilbert was the last book I read. The current book I’m reading is “Confessions of an Evil Stepsister.” Hehee.

# Do you like any of your school photos?
No. :P I think I look dweeby and dorky in all of ‘em!

# Do you ever blowdry your armpits to get the deodorant to dry quicker?
What the hell. No. LOL You mean people do this?!

# What was the last film you watched?
“I Am Legend” with Will Smith. We saw it last weekend and it was SO GOOD!!! Definitely one to own.

It’s Friday, It’s Friday!

Phew, thank god it’s Friday. There’s been a lot of appointments this week. So busy, my head kind of hurts after all this work. If I don’t have one client going through a strange crisis or having to go to drug treatment, I have another case that’s near closing and I have to end it. From one extreme to the other. Kind of overwhelming if you ask me. That just means there’s a lot more paperwork and consultation that need to happen. Oi.

But anyway, it’s FRIDAY!! One family dinner this weekend, and Monday is relatively free after a couple of personal appointments. Then I can do paperwork. The rest of the week doesn’t look so bad. Let’s just concentrate on the weekend for now. Are you as happy as I am that it’s FRIDAY?!

Yay for Husband!

Some good things are happening! I’m so proud of my husband. :) I won’t go into details but he’s my hero. Way to stick to your guns, Husband! :)

In other news, Mr. Husband there also managed to finally finish painting our en suite bathroom… which means: YES we get to move back into it! Having to use the main bathroom for everything was quite a pain in the arse, especially when that main bathroom doesn’t have a plug for hair dryer or toothbrush or anything: it only seems to allow razors and that’s it. So I’ve had to dry my hair in the hallway. O.o Very weird. Mr. Procrastinator there finally got the job done, and it only took him 4 months to paint the itty bitty room that can only fit a toilet and a sink! :P

Pet peeve of the day: There’s something wrong with “painter’s tape” when it doesn’t peel off right and when it peels off PAINT from underneath. What the hell? Am I using it wrong or something? I thought this stuff was supposed to be lighter on surfaces and easier to remove? If this isn’t the case, why didn’t I just use masking tape? I’d get the same crappy effect.

Time Flies

Ah so many plans we have for our future! I remember when I was in university back at UCI in California, I had a buddy of mine who was dating this dude who was a futures broker living in New York. Back then, hearing her talk about all this adult stuff — investing, trading, etc. — made me feel like it was a world away. Now, it doesn’t look so far away anymore. It’s kind of scary how many years have passed since I graduated high school. I think this year is actually my 10-year high school reunion. I’m not sure if I’m going to go, given that I’ll be big with Baby Bean, or busy with newborn Baby Bean. I’m curious as to where everyone is now (I’ve only kept in touch with about 2 people from high school, if that), but am I that curious as to fly to California? Hm, not sure.

But wow. I can’t believe how much time has passed. I’m married, we’re living in a stable home, we’re pregnant, we both make decent money. When the heck did I grow up? I remember dreaming as a little girl how much I would love to be “twenty-five years old.” I don’t know why that was the magic age for me back then, but look! I’m 27 now! Dang. What the heck.

And these are the best years of my life. How awesome.

Maternity Clothes Galore

A few of my friends and I have been doing some online shopping for maternity clothes for me. Hehe. It’s so fun to browse through, but what I’ve found out when I actually went shopping physically for maternity pants is that none of them actually fit me. :P From sizes XS to S, they’re still too big for me. I guess they don’t have a size 1 in maternity. I actually ordered a couple pair of pants from Old Navy Maternity, and hopefully they’ll fit, but I wouldn’t count on it. I may just end up returning them. After going to two stores, once with Gran and another one with Jenbug, I ended up trying about 40 pairs of pants and bought 3 pairs. Heh. I’m going again with my awesome possum sister-in-law on Saturday. She’s a lot more experienced in this and maybe she’ll have some ideas. Well, at least I got some pants now. I’ve been wearing sweats to work. Everyone laughs but it’s not too funny, especially since I only have about 2 pairs of sweats that fit me right now. :P

I’m very excited. I’m 13 weeks along now, and the bulge is growing. So cool! I feel five times bigger than I actually am, so I’m always surprised when I look down and the bulge was so small. Heh. It’s the bloated feeling. Just a month and a half to go before we can find out the sex of Baby Bean. Baby Bean knows what Baby Bean is, but we don’t! Hehe.

Game Addiction

Man, I’m addicted to these online games. First it’s Hearts, and then it’s Literati, and now I’m even thinking about seeing if I should get into online poker. I’m kind of weary about betting online (or actually, betting at all), but I’m pretty in control of my money, so it probably won’t be a problem. Plus, the site has so many different types of games, from sports games to card games and even more. It’s a one-step system, where you can travel through the whole site and play all the games without worrying. Boy, this is gonna make my game addiction even worse! I already play Hearts and Literati quite a bit, and now if I get into poker, it won’t ever end! Heh. Maybe this would be an awesome time to actually learn poker, I think? I never actually learned, but this would be a good opportunity.
