A Day Like Yesterday

Well, yesterday was a good “day from hell” if I’ve ever experienced any (and I have!). In full preparation for the full moon (is that today, or was it yesterday?), it proved to be quite the stressful day for our family. First, a minor car accident for yours truly to deal with (no one was hurt, but now I have to deal with the nuisance of getting my car fixed up and prettified again). Then, when I thought I made it safely home in one piece and I can hide from the rest of the world for the rest of the day, Murphy’s Law dictated that of course, two people needed to be sent to the hospital, one in an ambulance, and the other through the emergency room. I was the one who went through the emergency room.

Before you get too worried, everyone’s fine. It was just a very stressful day. I was having some really severe pelvic pains and I called the maternity ward to ask about it. They wanted me to come in to get assessed, and I had to go through the emergency entrance because it was 11pm at night last night when we checked ourselves in. After being hooked up for about an hour, listening to Bean’s steady heartbeat and feeling her active movements, the doc sent us home with the clear common diagnosis of “round ligament pains.” Apparently, my pelvis area is stretching and my hips are separating. Yes, it is as painful as it sounds.

As for the ambulance incident, I’m keeping that one a little close to my heart. It was Gran, and she gave us a good scare. She’s still at the hospital, and I’m glad she’s getting cared for by professionals because I sure didn’t know what the hell I was doing yesterday that was of any help to her. Talk about pregnant-lady-panic.

Today is proving to be much better than yesterday, with an early phone call from Healthcare Canada saying they are going to extend my medical coverage to accommodate for the delivery of our beautiful Baby Bean when the time comes. That is SUCH a huge weight off my shoulders, you have no idea.

Now I have to deal with a couple of other things before I can officially be emotionally on my maternity leave. Little stresses I can handle, but a day like yesterday — never again, please. A day like yesterday puts everything into perspective. You hold onto those you love with dear life because you never know what could happen just around the corner. Life is so transient. Let’s not spend all our time worrying about diet pills or reality shows. Let’s give each other hugs and kisses and daisies. Heh.

Oh sweetie, I’m sorry you had such a rough day. My prayers are with ya’ll. Soon it will all be worth the emotional overdrive.

Sorry to hear about the accident. I am glad you and your Gran are doing okay!
