Ah another lovely weekend is here! This past week has been hectic. I stopped working (physically, though I’m still doing paperwork at home) and had my last day at work in Bellingham. Now I’m staying put on the north side of the border until Bean is born… which could technically be any day now since I am now considered “full term.” Wow. I can’t believe we’re already here.
Today will be spent cleaning the house up and finishing Bean’s room. We’re almost all good to go. I’ll take pictures and show everyone once it’s done. All her furniture is black, and her walls are light green. It looks rather snazzy, if I do say so myself. We’ve got origami butterflies decorated all over her walls, and Dave painted a cute little mural on the main side of the room, of an elephant holding a paint brush. Hehe.
This next week will be spent relaxing a lot, and staying off my feet, so I’m trying to get as many chores done and the house as clean as possible in order to accommodate my relaxation. I can’t relax when the house isn’t clean. I’m neurotic that way. Or I’m nesting. Maybe both. I have high hopes of cleaning the bathroom today (not much to do — just the bathtub and toilet), and a bit of laundry. And vacuuming and dusting. Not too bad. By the time the day is done, I can put my feet up and work on paperwork on the laptop in front of the television. I want to get all my paperwork done before Bean is due because I know the last thing I will want to do when the baby is born is work. If memory serves me right, every mother I have talked to has told me that when the baby is born, your whole world will revolve around that little bundle and nothing else matters. Not work, not deadlines, not appointments. Everything else fades into the background. I’m looking forward to it. I seem to already be halfway there.
