Heating Systems

Now that winter is here, I am almost always cold. I don’t miss much about living in California, but the one thing I do miss is the heat. Even in the winter, I remember it being only about 60 degrees, at the very least. Snow days are non-existent, and parkas are a rarity — you only wear them when you take a vacation somewhere where there is snow, away from the valleys of Southern California. Now, in B.C., where there’s actually snow and winds and lots and lots of cold rain, I practically live by our heating system. We have the fire on almost constantly everyday, especially on weekends. Sometimes I even lounge right next to the fireplace. If I could invest money in vent free gas logs, I totally would, because they’re lifesavers. Desatech could totally be my favorite business site, since they specialize in everything warm, and I am totally up for anything and everything warm. In fact, just sitting here right before bed reminds me how grateful I am of our heater. Heh.

Smorty

Perfect. I am ecstatic to introduce my blog to smorty.com, a newer and more awesome version of PaidPerPost. They introduce advertisers to bloggers, and vice versa. It’s a great way to get to know your readers and your audience, especially if you are an advertiser. It’s also a great way to expand your business. It’s more dependable than PPP, and it’s a lot less stressful, too. I like smorty, and I think I’m going to stick around, for sure. If you’re interested in getting paid to blog, and you’re interested in choosing what you blog about (aren’t we all?), then smorty is definitely for you. I’m happy to join the team. Who wouldn’t love to just get paid to blog?! So this is my first entry for Smorty. The more I look around, the more I realize how durable and supportive they are. This is a really good site for both advertisers and bloggers. It’s a great way to expand your business, as well as bring some extra money in as a blogger. Plus, you only write about the sites you choose to write about — they don’t force you to write about anything you don’t want to, or support anything you don’t want to. It’s a good little site.

TV and Exhaustion

When I was a kid, I LOVED watching television shows with captioning service provided. I have no idea why, really, but at least it really helped me learn to read. Isn’t that weird? Nowadays, if we’re watching a tv show or a movie, and the captions are on, we have to turn them off. At first, I didn’t mind too much, since Dave found them annoying. Now, I kinda find them annoying as well. Go figure. Sometimes I’m curious though, and put them back on, especially when I’m watching soap operas. They say who’s saying what, and they give names to the characters if you don’t know they are. Heh. It’s kind of useful, at least.

I think I’m starting to get tired again. I feel exhausted all of a sudden. Man oh man. I need to get some more paperwork for work done here. At this rate, it’s going to be a very very long week of sleeping on and off, and finishing paperwork in between. Oi.

Car Angel

There’s this agency that I heard of called Car Angel, who make videos for children (Christian-based) by using money donated from car donations from people like me and you. It’s a really neat program for Christian families and education for their children. An example of these videos is below.

While I’m not a Christian myself, I realize the importance religion and spirituality play in a lot of people’s lives. Regardless of the viewpoint, I value that Car Angel can be so creative in how they use the kindness of strangers and ordinary people like me and you to educate those who want to be educated on this specific religion. The videos are very, very kid-friendly. Very Sunday-school feeling to them, and they’re kinda cute. Heh. And you know, if you have a car you don’t use anymore (some of us have several sitting in our yard!), what better way to get rid of them? It’s better to give them to someone you know will get good use out of them, than to have these cars sit in your yard forever or be collected on dump sites, right?

Hitting the Shops

Oh my GOSH I can’t believe I haven’t even started Christmas shopping yet, and it’s already almost mid-December. This is bad, very bad I tell you. Gar. I think I will start the shopping process by going to a discount online store, and see what they got. If you want to, too, click here. I hear they have a lot of really good deals on a lot of awesome gifts. I wish there was one place where we can just buy all the gifts all at once. One stop shop. I’ve tried it in the past, but it never happens because people like different things. So I guess the best way to tackle this Christmas list is just to go ahead and DO it. Hit the mall, shop till I drop (or get nauseous and exhausted lol), and then go home and survey my damage.

Black Outs

A few days ago, our power went off. In fact, it’s been doing that a lot, due to the windy and snowy weather. Now, it’s a lot better, but for a while, it was getting very annoying. During those times, I really envy people with emergency generators… as long as they don’t go out too. Then people would have to worry about power supply repair and stuff, on top of the regular black outs. Hopefully, though, all our black outs are done with for this year. :P

Christmas Shopping

Christmas is coming up, and I haven’t even started my present-buying at all. I’m going to be in trouble this year, given that the first trimester is hitting me so hard in the rump (but seriously, I’m not at all complaining — Baby Bean can take whatever Baby Bean needs, and I will gladly, freely, openly give it all up for my little bundle of bean-ness). However, this does make it difficult to find the energy and time to get my friends and family an adequate gift for Christmas. The hardest part about Christmas shopping is that everyone is such an individual. You can’t go to just one store and buy everything. You have to go to several different stores to make sure you get what people would like. For example, one of my friends is really into horses and everything that has to do with horses (reminded me of her when I perused through equestrian riding apparel the other day), while another of my friends loves everything that has to do with Precious Moments figurines. I can guarantee you that both these interests won’t be found in the same store any time soon. I have to start Christmas shopping, or I’m going to be more behind than I already am. Yikes!!

Cell Phone Woes

My work cell phone is one of the best I’ve had in a long time. It lasts the whole day, even when I’m really busy and end up on the phone constantly. My old cell phone before this one, I had to use a car charger throughout the day because otherwise it would die about 2 hours after a full charge. It was really annoying, and very cumbersome, especially when I ended up missing important client phone calls and crisis calls. I always wanted one of those cordless phone battery, and I bet they’re really useful. I hope one day they’d be something I’d have a chance to use.

Speaking of, my phone is ringing, and it’s like, 7pm. I have one voicemail msg, and I’m sure it’s a client, but I’m so darn lazy to check it. I’m all comfy on the couch in my pajamas, and as soon as I get up, I know that headache is gonna get worse. Le sigh.

Weird Techno Chick

I think we seriously need an update on our entertainment units. I think we’re one of the last people I know who hasn’t yet bought an HDTV or some sort of flat screen panel yet. And then, I hear about these HDMI splitters that you can also buy for your entertainment unit. I think I’m really behind on the times, but you know, I just don’t care enough. Our tv works fine. It takes a bit of space, and I would love for it to be hanging off the wall all silent-like and ninja-like, but it’s been working and I don’t see any reason why we need to upgrade when it works perfectly well.

Maybe I’m just weird. :)

Honeymoon Bliss

When we’re on vacation, I’m totally leaving all work behind. I don’t care if I’m behind in my paperwork — this whole next week, I will not be working. Hehehehe. Feels wonderful. Jen and Anne are covering for me next week, too. No cell phone, no work email, nothing. Heck, I won’t even have to get all annoyed by the fact that my cell needs a cell phone booster for going through areas of Blaine and Ferndale! And even some parts of B’ham. I wouldn’t have to worry about any of that!! One whole week free of worrysome phone calls, crises, no shows, cancellations, service logs, and exit summaries. Ahhh, how lovely.

Then maybe I can finally just concentrate on getting better, enjoying my pregnancy symptoms, and relaxing by the beach while the warmth of the sun hits my skin. :D
