You know one of the craziest things I’ve seen on HGTV yet is home theater furniture. Well, I guess they’re not “crazy,” but I never realized before that there are people out there wealthy enough to have a freakin’ theatre in their home. That’s just amazing. My idea of “rich” when I was growing up was going to my aunt’s house who had a pool table in her patio and a ping pong table in her garage. I thought, “Dang, that’s a life — two play tables in one house!” I thought that was the ceiling of “rich.” Boy, was I wrong. I wish I was that naive again. Heh. Nowadays, people have freakin’ theatres in their homes, a room specifically made for wrapping presents (is that Donald Trump? I don’t remember), and swimming pool rooms. Extravagance knows no boundaries. Leave it to humans to make things unnecessarily bigger, bigger, bigger.
I made up a home chore calendar chart yesterday for Dave and me. It just basically lists all the chores we have to do every week, and whoever does them gets to sign off on them so that we know it’s been done. This will help me because sometimes I feel so overwhelmed with house duties. I specifically hate to do laundry and vacuum. I want a robo vac so badly, it’s not even funny. We used to have one, but it was the first and oldest model when it first came out, and therefore it broke down after about a year and a half or two. We put some good mileage on that thing too. It was on practically everyday. I loved having a clean house with a clean floor everday when I come home from work. Now, we’re saving up for one for Christmas again. Those things are so darn cool. Have you seen them?
I better finish laundry and vacuuming today, so I can sign off on that paper. Heh.

For those of you who are thinking about retiring in Florida, you may want to check out Florida mortgage rates before you do so. I would love to have a vacation home in Florida, actually — that’s where Disney World is! I haven’t been to the other parks outside of the regular one yet, so being in Florida would be awesome to check out. Some of my friends live in Florida, so you should all check into EHomeMortgages’ Florida home loans before deciding on buying a home there. Look for good interest rates and a dependable company. Having a dream home in Florida would be so wonderful, what with the great weather in the summer time. It is the perfect retirement locale for a reason! You would just have to make sure you’re paying a good Florida mortgage rate when you buy your home there.

Any of you out there who call internationally? I have relatives in Vietnam and friends in Europe, and I bet a lot of you are in similar situations as me, who have loved ones all over the world. I usually use my land line to call out, but they can get really expensive the more you call, so pre-paid calling cards are sometimes the way to go. Now, Pingo.com offers really low rates on international calling cards for global usage. I remember my mother going to supermarkets and comparing pre-paid calling cards from all types of brands, only buying the cheapest ones, and then buying them in bulk. So wasteful, in my opinion. I like that Pingo offers virtual calling cards instead. Use your international phone card online and virtually!
If you’re interested, if you sign up through me and reading this entry, you can get $8 in free calls right now, with no hidden charges, no secret fees. Just all plain, honest usage. You may even get up to 5 hours of free calling if you sign up now, and furthermore, you get extra $3 discount if you use the blog discount coupon code of “ppp3″. Another great deal is the calling card that you can get for only $17, but is actually worth $25. You don’t have to actually pay full price.
Other great deals includes Pingo Mobile, which saves you up to 90% on your international phone calls made from your cell phone. If you’re like me and you use your cell phone a LOT, this is definitely the one for you. There is even an affiliate program you can join if you are so inclined, which can lead up to you saving a lot more too.

If you’re in the UK, you may want to take advantage of this post specifically. I have a code: “web123″ — that allows you a special promotion when you order flowers from Interflora. The voucher code is worth about £5, and offers free delivery with your purchase. With just a minimum purchase of approximately £20 (which really, isn’t that much when you think of fresh flowers in your home, right?) The delivery is for the next day, so this can be a gift to someone and it would be such a nice surprise to have it show up at their door out of nowhere. Husbands, boyfriends, fiances, here’s a hint to ya, if you’re in the UK and you want to surprise your girl with some flowers or balloons, and at the same time save a bit of coinage in the process, this is the way to do it. Might as well use the voucher code while it still lasts!
I love flowers. I like having fresh flora in our home… it feels more lively and it feels like the home is.. breathing. I don’t know what it is. If you’re like me, you’d probably want to take this offer up. Too bad I’m not in the UK – I would totally be utilizing this code and passing it to everyone I know!

Dave and I have talked a lot about the importance of eliminating paperwork when it comes to doing business. Now, eDisclosures is doing it! They’re introducing a new, revolutionary way of doing business in the loan industry especially. All disclosure documents are done electronically, through electronic disclosures, versus through paper. This eliminates the old way of doing things that cost more money (thousands of dollars, in fact), more space wasted, and more environmentally troubling aspects (such as wasting paper for seemingly worthless documents, eh). Of course, the most significant change is that the whole process will completely change, with some aspects even completely eliminated. This allows for big changes in efficiency and savings. I think it’s a great idea.

A friend and I were just talking today about how one of her friends is living in Las Vegas. I told her I didn’t realize people actually live in Vegas. Who knew! Seems like such a bustling place. Then again, I suppose there are some great job opportunities there, since it is a huge tourist town. That means that schools, homes, and family-based businesses pop up like crazy there. I bet Las Vegas homes aren’t too expensive either, since it is a growing city and out of the way. Millionsaver.com could help anyone find a home in Vegas, where the businesses are bustling and the people are constantly changing. I bet you can’t be bored in Vegas, living in the city that never sleeps, eh? New homes are going up like weeds, and resale homes are also alive and well. You can basically get your pick anywhere. Would be neat, I suppose, to live there, if you’re into all those lights and all that excitement!

Among bathroom renos, we’ve also been looking to get a new ceiling light for our living room, especially one that would be a little more energy-sufficient. We’ve got most of the house on those cool energy-sufficient light bulbs, whatever the heck they’re called, but our living room one isn’t yet. I don’t think the bulb fits, so I want to be able to change the entire thing and put in a new one. Our dining room is so darn dark, even with these stupid lights on, that it’s really ridiculous. I like living in light.
Those energy-saving lights are really neat too because once we started using them, our plants have been more vibrant. They really love these lights. They’re like sun substitutes or something. Our plants grow in a way that reaches towards these lights, like how sunflowers bend towards the sun. It’s really neat, actually.

Back in the day when I first got into the internet, I was a chatter. Not just that, but I was a website chatroom chatter. Yeah. That was when geocities was still around and its main source was the different chatrooms. Does anyone remember Tokyo Room? That was where I hung out. That was really old school, wasn’t it? Heh.
Now, the hip, new generation has a better, bigger version of free chat rooms. It simply isn’t enough just to chat anymore… it’s much cooler now to also do other things while chatting. For those of you who are still interested in the good ol’ days of regular chat rooms, you can now look forward to chatrooms that have nifty options like blogging, and interest clubs in the chat rooms. This is the great improvement from “geoshitties” because the interface looks better, it’s easier to work around the site, and it’s easier to use. It’s more user-friendly and the chat rooms aren’t actually confusing. Technology at its very best, people. Go meet new people while not having to wrack your brain on how to do it at the same time. It’s just that simple. I’ve met some really great people through chat rooms from way back when. A couple of them I still talk to and still chat with over AIM and other types of private instant messenger programs. You may get lucky too — like me, you may find some friends that will stick with you for years and years (going on about 10 years now for me and my chat room buddies).

Online Discount Mart is holding an end-of-summer sale — huge sale. I believe I blogged about them before, when summer first began, over at my other blog, and how everything there is so bloody inexpensive. Garden decors and home decors are all so reasonably priced. Now, they are holding an end-of-summer sale, which means that the already inexpensive items are even more inexpensive! Everything is a percentage off, including windmills for your back yard. Aren’t those things cool? That one in particular is only 8 feet tall and would look totally neat in our back yard. It’s only $38, too, from the $55 before the sale. What a great percentage off! Go and check out the rest of the site for more savings for your home and garden.

Is it already almost Christmas? What the heck? I have a bazillion people to shop for, and I should probably get started. It’s still bright and sunny outside and minus the couple of rainy and cloudy days here and there, it doesn’t feel like it’s only less than 4 months away from Christmas. I know Sylv, my mother-in-law, is already halfway done with her Christmas shopping (she’s crazy efficient!), and we haven’t even started yet. I guess since this year, we’re both making money, it will be easier. I have to get started on the handmade/homemade presents though, if I want to finish them all on time before Christmas, and as for the rest of the presents, I really have to get some christmas gift ideas because I’m running out of creative things to do and get for my family and friends. I even want to make homemade Christmas cards too, so this will be quite the endeavor. At this rate, I should’ve gotten started after New Year’s!
